Blue Shield of California, an independent member of the Blue Shield Association, is a not-for-profit health plan dedicated to providing Californians with access to high-quality health care at a reasonable price.
BlueShield of California (BOC) receives the insurance claim paper documents through different channels like US MAIL, Email and FAX; these documents are scanned and converted into digital documents. These documents are further processed and archived into the FileNet repository using record crawler services. Services like claim documents archival, content retrieval and index retrieval are done through the sophisticated web service infrastructure namely ECM Integration web service.
All the various processes involved are being consolidated, improved and implemented using the FileNet P8 suite of products.
